Every bride wants to look flawless and radiant on their big day. Laura Bermingham and beauty shopper Nicole Lynch joined Ireland AM this morning for the Wedding guide week with a selection of products that will give you that luminosity all day long.

The number one thing all brides want from their skin on their wedding day is skin that looks dewy, holds your makeup and in a nutshell to look the best it’s ever looked. We don’t ask for much?

This unfortunately isn’t just something that happens on the morning of the wedding as Laura explains, it’s all about the skin prep. So, what beauty products will give you that luminosity all day long and perfect skin for those all important wedding shots?

    Serum

The first product Laura applies to her model is the “AntiAging Rapid Response Booster” by La Prairie. For optimum results this serum should be used ideally 2 weeks prior to the wedding if not earlier, both morning and night after cleansing and toning, so the skin starts to get really hydrated in the upper layers. This serum is available online at Brown Thomas Dublin and is priced at €252.

    Magic Cream

From there the next product following your serum that Laura suggests is the Charlotte Tilbury “Magic Cream”. This product is very popular among all make-up artists and celebrities right now and is primarily for plumping the skin. The results can be seen and felt almost instantly and even if you are attending a wedding this is a great product for under your makeup. The benefits of this product are endless, it stimulates collagen production and cell energy and fights free radicals, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and smooth the skin, bringing your complexion back to life. This product is also available at Brown Thomas for €90.

    Primer

The next step is a primer which mattifies the skin, preventing the oil on your face from breaking down your makeup. Primer is essential on your wedding to ensure your makeup looks fresh and colourtrue for photos and of course lasts the entire day. Laura chooses the “Foundation PrimerOil Free” by Laura Mercier, particularly good for oily skin.

    Foundation

When it comes to foundation brides want a product that will last all day, give coverage but still have a light natural finish. Personal beauty shopper Nicole Lynch highly recommends “Luminous Weightless Foundation” by Nars. This product has a luminous quality and is extremely light weight on the skin but gives a dewy air brushed finish. It’s important that on your big day you don’t aren’t a completely different complexion to your groom, so this is a perfect option to give you that healthy glow.

    Concealer/Powder

Nicole also advises when applying your concealer to start at the temple and move downwards under the eye which creates a band of light rather than just under the eye. Paired with the ‘Film Star bronze’ by Charlotte Tilbury, along the cheekbones for a soft contour. A great powder to finish this look is the “Brightening Finishing Powder” by Bobbi Brown costing €55.50. The metallic silver palette includes an interior mirror for perfect application and an elegant feel no matter where you touch up.

Although all of these products are on the pricier side, they aren’t just for the big day of course. These products will last you for many more special occasions to come, as with theese products a little goes a very long way.
